Ways to Share Data and Files in 2026

With significant improvement in the sharing technology, transferring files has become a seamless process today. Whether it’s at an enterprise level, freelance work, or sharing mobile games, everyone shares files for myriad purposes. For instance, a recent report on Cloud Adoption and Risk pointed out that the average user utilises three apps for file sharing at work.

There are several apps out there like SHAREit for file sharing, but there are also different methods that you can use. This post will outline these and their limitations and benefits.

SHAREit:

It isn’t easy to transfer files on the go, and this also takes a long time to move files with extensive data. For Android and iOS devices that are WiFi-enabled, you can use SHAREit and create a local connection. This hotspot connection can support up to five devices at a time and allows you to share a single file to all five devices simultaneously.

Using the app, you can send audio, images, documents, mobile games, and much more without facing any challenges. What separates SHAREit from other methods and file transfer apps is:

  1. File transfer does not require an active internet connection. Users can connect the devices by utilising the WiFi hotspot technology and share file without facing any challenges.
  2. A cross-platform file is also possible with the SHAREit app. For instance, you can use it to share files from Android to Mac devices, iPhone to Android, Android to PC, PC to iPhone, and much more. Also, you do not need to have an active internet connection for this.
  3. SHAREit is a digital content platform empowering users to consume HD videos, gaming content, regional videos, etc. This content library is updated regularly, so you can always be entertained. Also, you can use the gaming centre on SHAREit to download any mobile game you want without signing up.
  4. File-transfer with SHAREit is nearly 200 times faster than Bluetooth sharing, and it is exceptionally secure. Also, the SHAREit app is free of cost.

SHAREit is among the best apps out there to share videos and games. It is a core product of the SHAREit Group; the app is now available across operating system platforms. Moreover, please ensure that you download the app from trustworthy sources.

Google Drive:

Emails sent via Gmail only allow attachments as large as 25MB. But when a file is larger, Google gives you the option to share it by uploading it to your drive and sharing the link. Google’s free storage allows you 15GB of data storage space, so you can share multiple large files via email by uploading a file, sharing it via email.

Google lets you choose if you want to create a link that everyone can access or edit or one that only your email recipients can see or edit. Their premium plans increase storage space starting from 100GB, priced at $1.99 per month. The only limitation of this method is that it costs money and requires the use of the internet. In fact, both parties will be required to have a working internet connection for uploading and downloading the files.

FTP:

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a relatively old file-sharing method, compared to cloud solutions like Google Drive or Dropbox. But it is still one of the most effective methods of downloading and uploading files. Every operating system supports FTP as well as multiple websites and plug-ins that support the download and upload of data and files from your browser. Mac and Windows users can use several FTPs like FireFTP or Cyberduck. The only con is that you must necessarily have access to a web hosting service.

Using Specialised Services:

A new type of file transfer service has come in. This service is browser-based and has proprietary technology built into it that accelerates the upload speed of large files. These specialised service providers like Masv, Signiant and Aspera help transfer files that are larger than 20GB using the cloud. These services come with a $0.25 per GB that gets downloaded, offered at a pay-as-you-go pricing model. There are no contracts, support fees, subscription fees or bandwidth limits.

Sharing a file or server from one server or device to another is pretty mainstream today. But for a generation that grew up using USB drives, floppy disks and infrared, sharing files this way is no less than any other highly advanced technology. For more information, refer to the SHAREit Facebook page.
